A series of custom designed, conceptually driven furniture pieces includes a 15 ft x 5 ft boardroom table, a puzzle-like, historical timeline in acrylic and stainless, supported on a massive steel frame. Two layered panels of varying translucency record place, 1915 to the present, and influential people. The acrylic slabs are held in compression with an inserted solid stainless bars and are secured with stainless pins that penetrate and are welded to the frame. Boardroom materials generally take light from a room, rather than reflecting it as this table does, celebrating both physical and metaphorical light of the MCASD mission and its history.
