Burton Landscape Studio

The Burton Landscape studio reflects an understanding of its interactive social structure and inge­niously achieved the owners’ multiple goals within 10,000 sf—to express their design sensibil­ity, inspire new levels of creativity, create the studio’s public face, and define their location in a burgeoning design district. The entry functions as art gallery, reception area, and setting for office gatherings. A scrim gives privacy and serves as a background for art, sculpture, or pro­jected images. A massive steel and glass wall separates the design studio from the street-side tenant; a design bookstore…the perfect marriage of use.
